I have begun another one in the February challenge on Wet Canvas. This is a stream running over rocks with lots of trees. Very difficult! So far I don't like it at all, but I'm going to persevere. Often the mid point of a painting looks terrible and then it magically all comes together. I hope that will happen with this one.
In March 2008 I made the suprising discovery that I had a little artistic talent which had been lying dormant all my life. I started with simple still life subjects but as time went on I progressed to more complex subjects. The only medium I paint in is pastels which I love. They do tend to be messy but I love the immediacy of the work, involving no mixing with turps or water, just pure pigment directly applied and mixed right there on the paper. Carol Conrad
