In March 2008 I made the suprising discovery that I had a little artistic talent which had been lying dormant all my life. I started with simple still life subjects but as time went on I progressed to more complex subjects.
The only medium I paint in is pastels which I love. They do tend to be messy but I love the immediacy of the work, involving no mixing with turps or water, just pure pigment directly applied and mixed right there on the paper.

Well I did a few finishing touches to my picture of the Merrimac River picture and it's now in it's frame and hanging on the wall. In real life, the sky is not quite as pink as it appears in this photograph, but sometimes the camera does lie.
