In March 2008 I made the suprising discovery that I had a little artistic talent which had been lying dormant all my life. I started with simple still life subjects but as time went on I progressed to more complex subjects.
The only medium I paint in is pastels which I love. They do tend to be messy but I love the immediacy of the work, involving no mixing with turps or water, just pure pigment directly applied and mixed right there on the paper.

"Calla"
I've been promising myself that I would paint this picture of a Calla Lily for a while and I finally got round to it this week. It's now framed and waiting for me to put a wire on the back before it can be hung on the wall. 11" x 14"
Do you take a picture of what you want to paint then paint it or do you paint from memory? I have always wanted to be able to paint but GOD did not gift me with that talent. You do have the eye for this craft. Beautiful showing of light down the center of the flowers.
