In March 2008 I made the suprising discovery that I had a little artistic talent which had been lying dormant all my life. I started with simple still life subjects but as time went on I progressed to more complex subjects.
The only medium I paint in is pastels which I love. They do tend to be messy but I love the immediacy of the work, involving no mixing with turps or water, just pure pigment directly applied and mixed right there on the paper.

The Creek
Just finished this one. I can't remember where I got the photo, but I'm always drawn to shots of creeks winding through fields, and I need lots of practice painting mountains!!
Thank you for your kind words......much appreciated. However, no brush or canvas is involved in my work as I paint exclusively in pastels and therefore the tools used are pastel sticks and sanded pastel paper or board. In most cases I paint from photographs, some of which I take myself, but the majority I get from a couple of web sites where photographers post their photos as free reference material for artists such as myself to use.
Just found your blog, mercy!! GOD sure did give you a talented eye with the brush and canvas. Outstanding paintings.
