In March 2008 I made the suprising discovery that I had a little artistic talent which had been lying dormant all my life. I started with simple still life subjects but as time went on I progressed to more complex subjects.
The only medium I paint in is pastels which I love. They do tend to be messy but I love the immediacy of the work, involving no mixing with turps or water, just pure pigment directly applied and mixed right there on the paper.

Road to the Mountain
This is from a photo of Heber, in Utah taken by someone else, but I loved it and asked permission to use it to paint from. I always love any photo that has a path that draws the eye and as soon as I saw this I knew I wanted to paint it.
